What the client sees, phase by phase

Phase one: the written brief, the search strategy and the scope-of-work agreement, all before payment. Phase two: every document, for approval, with revision. Phase three: the tiered target list and the recruiter map, for approval. Phase four: the weekly pipeline report and every approach before it goes out. Phase five: a preparation dossier per interview and a debrief after each. Phase six: whole-package offer analysis and a negotiation strategy in writing.

The Reverse Recruitment Method™

The Standard Process descends from the Reverse Recruitment Method™, formalised by Arno Markus at iCareerSolutions in 2021 and described in his own words in the editor's notes. The method groups the same work into four stages: target map, positioning, outreach in the client's name, and pipeline to offer.

Frequently asked questions

How long does each phase take?

Discovery runs in weeks one to two, positioning in weeks two to four, market mapping in weeks three to five, and the campaign from week four onward for as long as the engagement runs. Interviews and offers land when the market answers; senior searches commonly run three to five months from first outreach to accepted offer.

What does the client have to do?

Approve the written strategy and the target map, review and approve every document that will represent them, approve the method and message of each approach, attend the weekly review, and show up prepared for the conversations that matter.

What is a pipeline report?

A written weekly record of every organisation targeted, every person contacted, the channel, the date, the response and the next step. The NRRA Standard Process requires it; a provider that cannot show a redacted example has never kept one.

Do reverse recruiters apply to posted jobs?

Selectively, where a posted role genuinely fits the strategy. Posted roles are the smallest and most crowded segment of the senior market, so the standard treats them as a disciplined slice of the campaign, not the campaign.
